in Politics

Morse Micro, the world's leading supplier of HaLow Wi-Fi semiconductors, has announced the HaLowLink 2 long-range Wi-Fi router.

HaLowLink 2 introduced – Wi-Fi router with radius up to 1 km and support for 1000 devices

HaLowLink 2

Specific

Featuring Morse Micro's latest high-performance HaLow MM8108 Wi-Fi chipset, HaLowLink 2 delivers significantly increased wireless range, improved performance and simplified deployment in supported regions including the US, Canada, Australia, UK, Europe and Japan.

HaLowLink 2

HaLowLink 2 provides users with a quick way to deploy networks designed specifically for HaLow Wi-Fi devices operating in the sub-1 GHz frequency band, making it the optimal choice for large-scale use cases, from smart cities and industrial parks to farms, logistics systems and large administrative and commercial complexes.

When used with another HaLowLink 2 device, the router can significantly increase Wi-Fi coverage beyond the standard range, while also providing stable communications to devices not compatible with HaLow technology via Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB interface.

HaLowLink 2

Inside the router is a MediaTek MT7621 dual-core processor, 256MB RAM, one LAN port, one WAN port, and a USB-C connector. There is an external antenna for the HaLow signal and two built-in 2.4 GHz antennas. Throughput reaches 43 Mbps over significant distances using 256-QAM modulation and up to 26 dBm transmitter power.

The router runs OpenWrt 23.05. Supports a web graphical interface, remote management via SSH and command line, configuration tools, and the ability to automatically update firmware.

Release date and price

HaLowLink 2 is available on the GL.iNet website. The router costs $130 and a set of two devices will cost $234.
