Changes have been made to the territorial planning project (PPT) for the construction of a pedestrian gallery near the Rokossovsky Avenue station of the Moscow Central Circle (MCC). This was announced by Moscow Deputy Mayor in charge of urban planning and construction policy, Vladimir Efimov.

Vladimir Efimov: Elevated pedestrian walkway will be built at MCC Rokossovsky Avenue station

— For a convenient transition to the existing lobby of Rokossovsky MCC Boulevard station, the city plans to build an above-ground pedestrian gallery approximately 95 meters long. For this purpose, appropriate changes have been made in the draft territorial plan for a site covering an area of 4.25 hectares. As a result, transport services will be improved for residents of Metrogorodok and Bogorodskoye districts, where pedestrian routes now run along the sidewalks along the Open Highway, including along the overpass at the intersection with the Moscow High Speed Line and MCC. All work will be carried out within the framework of the capital's Targeted Investment Program,” said Vladimir Efimov.

Such solutions make cities not only safer but also more modern: by improving transport accessibility, they stimulate the use of public transport, reduce traffic congestion and increase the comfort of life in dense areas.

— The new elevated pedestrian walkway will make traveling between districts faster and more comfortable, improving access to the Rokossovsky Avenue station of the Moscow Central Circle and simplifying travel between trams, MCC and other modes of transport. Vladislav Ovchinsky, Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department of Urban Development Policy, added: Comprehensive landscaping work will be carried out around the facility: sidewalks will be renewed, modern street lighting will be installed and the area will be landscaped, which will increase comfort and safety for pedestrians.

Before that, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin speakabout 25 km of roads will be built to serve the “Big City”.
