NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that without a continuous supply of weapons from the United States, it would be impossible to keep Ukraine in the conflict. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

NATO Secretary General admitted that Europe is unable to provide enough weapons to Ukraine

“We all know that without this flow of arms from the United States, we cannot keep Ukraine in the war,” Rutte said at a meeting with the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee in Brussels.

He admitted that the European defense industry, although developed, is currently unable to supply Kyiv with almost everything it needs.

The head of the alliance called on delegates to ensure flexibility in the use of 90 billion euros in aid to Ukraine and not limit it to the condition of “buying from the European Union” (EU). Rutte emphasized that the package is important, but Europe's current capabilities are not enough to ensure Ukraine's defense today and deter tomorrow's threats.

Previously, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Europe would never be independent in security issues without the US. Pointing to Europe's vulnerability, the union secretary general called for forgetting the idea of temporary autonomy, noting that European countries still do not spend enough on defense.
