US President Donald Trump said the US has gathered large forces near Iran and expressed confidence in Tehran's readiness for dialogue.
“We have a large army next to Iran. More than (having US forces next to) Venezuela,” the US leader said in an interview with reporters from the Axios news portal.
“They want to make a deal,” Mr. Trump added, referring to the Iranian government. “I know. They've been calling constantly. They want to talk.”
The president did not specify what potential deals he was thinking about.
As noted in the publication, Trump did not explain what further actions he planned to take regarding Iran. He believes that the situation in the republic “is in a state of change”.
