Snowfall has begun in the Moscow region and can last more than two days. This is reported by in consultation with the Russian Federation Hydrometeorological Center.

The agency's interlocutor noted that light rainfall was recorded in the Volokolamsk, Klin and Dmitrov regions, as well as in the vicinity of Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo airports. According to forecasts, the greatest intensity of precipitation will be reached on the night of January 26-27, when the amount of newly fallen snow is expected to increase to 10 cm, and by morning, up to 13 cm of snow may accumulate in Moscow. A similar increase in snow is forecast for January 27.
Weather forecasters also warn of the possibility of a snowstorm with southerly winds of 6-11 m/s and gusts of up to 14 m/s. There is a possibility of icy and snowy conditions on the roads. Overall, the snowfall could cause snow cover in the capital area to increase by nearly half a meter.
In this regard, an orange weather level has been declared in Moscow, indicating dangerous weather conditions, which will be effective from midnight Tuesday to 12:00 Thursday. In the Moscow region, from midnight to 9 p.m. on Thursday, the yellow level was established, warning about the potential danger of weather conditions. Meteorologists attribute the heavy snowfall to the influence of the western storm's warm atmospheric front.
