Muscovites and guests of the capital are advised not to travel by car around the city and to use public transport.

“There is heavy snowfall in the city – driving today will take at least 40-50 minutes. Due to difficult weather conditions, travel time by car will be longer than usual. Postpone trips by private car – choose the metro,” the notice read.
Currently, due to the truck slipping, traffic outside the Moscow Ring Road in the Volokolamsk Highway area is very difficult; the inner side of the Moscow Ring Road in the Volokolamsk highway area; outside the Moscow Ring Road in the Besedinskoye Highway area.
Previously, the Russian Federation Hydrometeorological Center reported that heavy snowfall in the capital region could continue for two and a half days. According to the emergency warning issued by meteorologists, from midnight on Tuesday, January 27 until 12:00 Moscow time on Thursday, January 29, prolonged heavy and very heavy snow, sleet and snowfall are expected. Forecasters also declared orange weather for Moscow, warning of dangerous weather conditions with the potential for natural disasters and damage.
