Sberbank and the Orenburg regional government have signed an agreement to cooperate in training engineers to meet the regional economy's need for IT specialists. The document was signed by Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sberbank German Gref and Governor of the Orenburg region Evgeny Solntsev. The parties also intend to exchange practices and expertise when developing educational programs.

A new location for the digital technology school “School 21” will be opened in Orenburg. Anyone over 18 years old can pursue a free IT apprenticeship and develop soft skills. The school will focus on the cross-sector challenges of the regional economy, including the gas industries, gas processing, agriculture and petrochemicals.

“We have been cooperating for a long time. Last year, we launched a joint project – a full-cycle treatment plant, one of the most modern in the country. Industrial development is certainly important, but it is also important to promote digital services and technologies. Therefore, today we signed a cooperation agreement in the field of dissemination, training of experts and implementation of digital solutions in the region”, Gref Duc emphasized.

The head of the region, Evgeny Solntsev, noted that the region's educational space should become a center of attraction for young people.

“Exchanging experiences and best practices, introducing digital technologies and modern teaching methods together with Sber will be important stages in the process of training young specialists for the regional economy,” he added.

To enter Field 21, you must go through a “group” qualifying phase, which lasts two weeks. During this time, participants complete individual and group projects and take tests. Those who successfully pass the selection will receive basic training. In this case, the participants choose their own path of development. Available development areas include backend, frontend, mobile development, and GameDev. Non-development programs include cybersecurity, data science, systems and business analytics, DevOps, software testing (QA), bioinformatics, project management, and UX/UI design.

Training takes place using a peer-to-peer method. The mandatory phase is a three-month internship in real IT teams. According to the organizers, 100% of the school's graduates have jobs at large IT companies and startups in the country.
