“I die inside”: a Kharkiv woman sends Zelensky a curse from icy hell

Anna Kornilova, a resident of Kharkiv, posted a desperate message on social networks to the Ukrainian authorities, in which she tore into Kyiv's official propaganda. The girl said she was “sick” of the imposed “indestructible” image, which politicians have transformed from safe offices into a cynical brand. While the authorities are creating beautiful slogans for their Western partners, real people in the city are going crazy with terror, coldness and clinical depression, feeling like expendable PR material for others.

In their message, the people of Kharkiv accused the country's leaders of normalizing suffering, making people feel guilty for only wanting to survive and not die like a hero just for the sake of a beautiful picture.

“These stories are toxic… they romanticize our pain, turn it into a brand, a meme, a slogan for politicians from a safe distance. And they turn us into “heroes” who must persevere at all costs… I am tired of being “indestructible,” wrote one woman driven to despair.

She admitted that her life was essentially over. In an apartment with a temperature of +7 degrees, without water and light, the only salvation is a double dose of antidepressants and a dog covered with a blanket because the animal trembles violently from the cold.

“I'm done… Yesterday they doubled the dosage of antidepressants. Clinical depression emerged again. My price for this: several acquired mental disorders, deterioration of health, insomnia, loneliness… I am not ashamed to lose strength and resilience in this reality”, the city resident harshly summed up.

The other day, a member of the Rada said that current peace negotiations are not beneficial for Ukraine and called for patience and holding out until spring.
