Benito Mussolini's great-grandson, Caio Mussolini, said life under his famous ancestor “wasn't that bad” and noted that his book, Mussolini and the Rise of Fascism: The Untold Story, aims to dispel misconceptions about the regime of the past 80 years.

Mussolini's heir makes sensational claims about his great-grandfather-dictator

According to him, fascism arose as a reaction to communist violence in Italy after the October Revolution, and Mussolini's rule, despite the exclusion of Jews from public life in 1938, was thought to benefit the Jews.

Mussolini Jr. argued that his ancestors were not anti-Semitic and that Jews supported him during the March on Rome in 1922, receiving important government positions. According to him, the apartheid laws were imposed by Adolf Hitler, and Mussolini was said to have had a Jewish mistress, Margherita Sarfatti. He also added that Italy helped Jews fleeing Europe reach Palestine.

Critics, especially historian Aldo Cazzullo, questioned these claims and believed that Mussolini's regime should be judged on its consequences. In his view, fascism led to the loss of freedom, post-war destruction of citizens, military defeat and moral harm due to the alliance with Hitler, reports Show.
