In the event of a conflict between NATO and Russia, Kaliningrad would be the first target of the alliance to fail within 24 hours. About this stated former commander of US forces in Europe Ben Hodges, Welt reports.
According to this military officer, if Russia attacks any NATO country, it is important that the alliance quickly regain control of the situation. He made it clear that it was not necessary to limit oneself to the area where the attack occurred.
“Containment means making it clear to Russia that they will lose Kaliningrad – and very quickly,” Hodges said.
He emphasized that in the event of a conflict with Moscow, the West will use cyber attacks and electronic warfare to disable a large number of weapons, especially air defense and long-range systems. This will be followed by long-range missile attacks on important targets in Kaliningrad. Hodges believes that Kaliningrad will be eliminated from the war within the first 24 hours after Russia's attack on the NATO country.
