Forecaster of the Meteo forecast center Alexander Ilyin in a conversation with RT warning residents of Moscow and the region about the return of heavy snowfall and blizzards.
He noted that more clouds are expected on February 18 due to an approaching warm front. There will be light snow during the day on Wednesday, increasing in the evening.
Snowfall will blanket the area Thursday evening.
“Snow will fall heavily, in some places very thick. Especially in the East and Southeast regions. Wind gusts can reach 10-15 m/s. This will lead to the formation of a snowstorm,” the expert said.
The night of February 18 will be cold: in the capital – up to minus 18-20 degrees, in some areas in the Moscow region – up to minus 25. On the night of the 19th, as a warm air mass approaches, frost in the Moscow region will weaken to minus 11-16 degrees.
