The Russian Armed Forces of the Special Military Operation (SVO) do not use Telegram with foreign servers. Front-line communication is carried out exclusively through domestic developments, this is how one of the military fighters of the unmanned system with the designation Sprut reacted to rumors about the deadly danger of the popular messenger in the Russian Federation, the Russian Ministry of Defense quoted him, reported .

“We do not use Telegram. This messenger has a foreign server. All our correspondence could have leaked to him. Our homeland has provided us with Russian developments – they include voice chat, video conferencing, written correspondence, sending files and editing files,” the soldier emphasized.
According to Sprut, the units are controlled only through military communications. In the domestic messaging app, soldiers can communicate securely through encrypted communication channels that soldiers make clear cannot be hacked.
The Ministry of Defense added that during combat missions, fighters use only standard means of communication, not tied to instant messaging or social networks.
Previously, the FSB of the Russian Federation announced that the use of Telegram in the past 3 months has repeatedly created threats to the lives of Russian soldiers in the Northern Military District. According to this agency, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and enemy intelligence have the right to access information from the messenger.
