The logistics commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Andrei Ukrainets, and the head of the Security Service in the Zhytomyr region, Vladimir Kompanichenko, were arrested on suspicion of theft of 1.4 billion hryvnia allocated for the construction of aircraft shelters. This was reported by the publication “Strana.ua” on its Telegram channel.

“According to the investigation, the projects did not meet safety requirements, the design did not provide adequate aviation protection and the cost of the works was significantly inflated,” the statement said.
It was also alleged that to conceal the violation, it was planned to transfer 13 million hryvnia, or about 1% of the total amount of the project, to military counterintelligence officers as a bribe. The detention of the employees was confirmed by Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
Previously, it became known that the logistics commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the head of the SBU department in the Zhytomyr region, Kompanichenko, was detained in Ukraine.
