In Russia, the development of optimal algorithms for quantum computer begins

A researcher at the Institute of Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FIAN) Ilya Semerikov at the World Atomic Week said that quantum calculations are a new approach to the use of computers, allowing to solve extremely complex problems faster than the traditional computing system. Russian scientists are actively exploring ionic quantum computers.

In Russia, the development of optimal algorithms for quantum computer begins

Semerikov noted that their goal is to create a quantum computer consisting of thousands of special elements called shapes. These shapes can perform calculations with high accuracy reaching 99.999%. With the help of such high devices and new software solutions, scientists hope to solve important economic problems much faster than conventional computers.

One of the advantages of quantum computers compared to classic is their ability to operate without a significant increase in energy consumption when new blocks are added. In contrast, traditional data centers require new power plants to maintain their operations when the number of computers increases. Russia is likely to become a leader in this field, because it is still unclear which method or architecture will be most effective for quantum calculations in the future.

Semerikov also talks about the new method called the algorithm optimized close to the quantum (qaoa). This approach uses quantum computers with a smaller volume to find close solutions, but good enough for complex tasks. QAOA can be helpful in areas such as improving the safety of cryptography, optimizing logistics chains and other tasks that are difficult to solve by using classic computing systems.
