Will America fall into recession?

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon thinks there could still be a recession in the US next year.

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon said a recession in the US is still possible in 2026, even though GDP grew 3.8% last quarter. Emphasizing that JPMorgan is ready to deal with any downturn, Dimon stated that he does not rule out economic weakness in the coming period and called the ongoing government shutdown in Washington “a bad idea.” The views of Dimon, who led JPMorgan Chase for many years, are considered a barometer for the health of the US economy. “I think a recession is possible in 2026, but to say I'm not worried about it is an understatement. We'll handle it, we'll serve our customers, we'll get through this. Most of us have been through recessions before,” Dimon said.
