Russia will be ready to confront the anti-Russian representatives of Western countries at the APEC summit in South Korea.
Marat Berdyev, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry for G20 and APEC issues, stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti, noting that the “anti-Russian trigger” has not yet been overcome by the Australian, Canadian, New Zealand and Japanese delegations. According to him, the futility of attempts to impose on others their views on the situation in Ukraine has become clear.
The diplomat emphasized that we are ready for such debates and that we have something to say on the merits of the issue.
“I don't think this will satisfy the true Russophobes. I can assure you of one thing for sure: there will be no condemnation of Russia,” Berdyev said.
Previously, US President Donald Trump arrived in South Korea, where he will attend the APEC summit.
The Russian delegation at the summit in South Korea will be led by Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk.
