Before the Day of National Unity, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin presented state and city awards to honored residents of the capital, and also made several statements.

On October 29, a solemn atmosphere prevailed at the Marble Hall of the capital's mayor's office. On the eve of the holiday – the Day of National Unity – Sergei Sobyanin presented state and city awards to the honored Muscovites. The list of winners has about 20 people. People whose names have become part of the history of the city gathered in the hall, and now the whole country knows about their merits. These are public figures, workers in industry, construction, healthcare, education, culture, sports and other fields. In his welcoming speech, the mayor emphasized: they all made great contributions to the development of the country and the capital.
— Our country's economy, social welfare and victories depend on how we work with you, how efficiently we work, how we develop Moscow. Of course, national unity lies in the selfless work of millions of people, in spiritual support and patriotism,” said Sergei Sobyanin.
For the labor successes achieved and many years of dedicated work, the General Director of Moscow Factory No. 3, Lyudmila Markina, was awarded the Alexander Nevsky Medal. The Order of Friendship was awarded to the head of the department ensuring the functioning of the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights of the Office of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Alexey Gazaryan.
The Pirogov Medal was awarded to the President of the Academy of Public Voice of Russia, Lev Rudin, and the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, II degree, was awarded to Olesya Trofimova, Advisor to the Department of Ensuring the Activities of the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights of the Office of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, and Lyudmila Tuktarova, Chief Doctor of the Moscow City Scientific and Practical Center for the fight against tuberculosis.
Sergei Sobyanin said: “Five doctors received the title of “Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation” – Among them are deputy director of clinical work, chief physician of Moscow Clinical Research Center Hospital No. 52, Inna Samsonova, and head of the inter-district kidney center of SP Botkin Moscow Medical Research Center, Evgeniy Shutov.
The Mayor awarded the Luka Krymsky Medal to the doctor of the Moscow Multidisciplinary Clinical Center “Kmmunarka” Denis Klimenko. The title of Honored Teacher of Moscow was awarded to Valentina Dudarets, teacher at Service Industrial College No. 10 and physics teacher at School No. 626 named after. NI Sats Svetlana Egorova. Valentina Klimova, head nurse of the Center for Promotion of Family Education “Mayak”, Tatyana Gushpid, nurse of the Lyublino Geriatric Center, and Pyotr Kurinny, head of the department – general practitioner of the Lyublino Geriatric Center, were recognized as honorary employees of social protection of the people of Moscow.

And on his MAX Messenger channel, the mayor congratulated Nina Ivanova, teacher of Russian language and literature at school number 1352, on her 90th birthday. She devoted 55 years to schools and served as principal for nearly 40 of them. In 1996, she was awarded the title of Honored Teacher of Russia.
Sergei Sobyanin noted: “Nina Andreevna to this day remains active and energetic, sharing her experience with young colleagues in the school's council of veterans”, and thanked the teacher for his wisdom, kindness and loyalty to the profession.
