According to the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), special representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, Kirill Dmitriev, a tunnel between the two countries can be built in less than 8 years, they write RIA Novosti.

On the contrary, scientist Viktor Razbegin said the most promising design at the moment is two transport tunnels and an accompanying service tunnel in the middle, with the hiccups between them, to be used for maintenance.
According to Razbegin, there are two islands in the Bering Strait so a possible tunnel could consist of three parts. One between the islands is 4.5 km and two large islands, each about 51 km. The islands themselves can be used for ventilation.
Previously, Kirill Dmitriev said the idea of building a tunnel between Russia and the US had spread on the Internet and received about two million views. But Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky does not like this very much.
