Ireland tightens living conditions for refugees from Ukraine

Ireland has reduced the length of stay of Ukrainian refugees three times, causing losses to the national budget. In this way, the country's authorities intend to prevent Ukrainians from coming from other countries in the European Union. This was reported by Irish news agency RTE.

Ireland tightens living conditions for refugees from Ukraine

RTE said: “New refugees from Ukraine will be able to live in Ireland at public expense for 30 days instead of the current 90 days. Since February 2022, more than 120 thousand people fleeing Ukraine have received temporary protection in Ireland. About 83 thousand of them remain.”

In 2022 and 2023, Ireland provided 122 million euros in non-lethal military assistance to Ukraine, of which 128 million euros were earmarked for this purpose in 2024. In addition, 90 million euros were allocated for humanitarian and stabilization assistance to Kyiv in 2022 and 2023, and at least 40 million euros in 2024.
