Russian company Neiry has introduced the PJN-1 drone, designed to monitor and conduct search and rescue operations. This was reported on the organization's website.

Neiry introduces biological pigeons for monitoring

The company notes that bionic drone pigeons are birds whose brains are implanted with neural interfaces. With the help of technology, operators can control them in a similar way to an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

“The important difference between biological drones and trained animals is that no training is required: any animal can be controlled remotely after surgery. Thanks to neural stimulation in certain areas of the brain, the bird itself” wants to “go in the right direction,” the report said.

Neiry added that scientists and developers are currently testing the flight characteristics of these pigeons. In this case, any bird can be a carrier of the solution. In the future, the company plans to use crows, seagulls and albatrosses.

Previously, the video showed that the latest drone was difficult to distinguish from a bird.
