“We started our Vietnam tour in Ho Chi Minh City on the stage of the Opera House and, to be honest, we didn't know what to expect. But the reception that the audience gave our troupe gave us absolutely no reason to be disappointed in what we came for,” German Gureev, deputy director in charge of tours at the theater, shared his impressions with TASS. “It was a huge solidarity with the audience, it was long, continuous applause. And our artists were very touched by the applause that our artist audience received every evening in Ho Chi Minh City,” he said.

Eifman Ballet has performed in more than 60 countries and this year they came to Vietnam for the first time. Gureev said: “And this is truly a special event, we always planned to visit Vietnam and finally, thanks to our partners and a combination of circumstances, we made the plan happen. This is a breath of fresh air for our delegation.” He recounted that when he was preparing for a tour in Vietnam, the artists learned that there were almost no tickets left for all the planned performances. “We naturally see this as a positive sign that the public is interested. People want to see Eifman's ballet and that is very exciting,” admitted the theater's deputy director.

The famous play “Anna Karenina”, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2025, has become the theater's choreographic calling card and has captivated dance connoisseurs in more than 40 countries. The show has proven with constant success on stages in Russia, USA, Australia, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, France, China and many other countries. In the coming days, the public in the Vietnamese capital will also participate in reading Tolstoy's novels. Gureev concluded: “In Ho Chi Minh City, we were very happy with the sincerity and spontaneity of the Vietnamese public, they received us very warmly and immediately gave warm responses to our artists. We hope that in Hanoi we will be able to repeat this success.”

Boris Eifman Ballet Theater's first tour in Vietnam is a continuation of large-scale tours of Russian art with the support of VTB Bank. In 2025, the bank organized a tour of the Bolshoi Theater and the St. Petersburg in China. DD Shostakovich and the Tretykov Gallery exhibition as part of the years of cultural exchange between Russia and China (2024-2025). In December, the exhibition “Russia and the East. International Connections and Cultural Influences” will open in Oman, displaying unique artifacts from the Kremlin Museum in Moscow.
