In Sydney, a couple won nearly $1.2 million in a casino using cameras and headphones

A couple from Kazakhstan won A$1.18 million in a Sydney casino using hidden cameras and headphones. The Guardian writes about this. NSW Police say they have arrested a 36-year-old woman and her 44-year-old husband on charges of financial gain by dishonest means. According to the investigation, the defendants hid a miniature camera in a Mickey Mouse sticker on a T-shirt to secretly film the gambling tables. Last week, staff at Crown Casino discovered a woman holding an illegal device and called the police. “The pair communicated using deep-seated earpieces, through which they received instructions on how to bet on various card games and ultimately defraud the casino,” police said. When they searched the foreigner's apartment, they found other gambling equipment, expensive jewelry and 2,000 euros. It is understood the couple arrived in Sydney from Kazakhstan in October this year and signed up for casino membership on the same day. After that, they repeatedly won large sums of money, which raised doubts about casino security. Both defendants refused bail. The woman will appear in court in February and her husband will appear in court on December 11.
