WHEN WILL THE MINIMUM WAGE DETERMINING COMMITTEE MEET?
The Minimum Wage Determination Committee, coordinated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, meets annually in December. The Committee will be governed by a panel consisting of workers, employers and government representatives.
The first meeting on increasing the minimum wage in 2026 will be held on December 12.
WHAT WILL THE MINIMUM WAGE BE?
This year, the net minimum wage is 22 thousand 104 TL. If the minimum wage increases by 30% in 2026, this figure will increase to 28 thousand 735 TL, and if it increases by 25%, it will increase to 27 thousand 630 TL.
Experts predict the minimum wage increase will be at 25-30%.
HOW IS THE MINIMUM WAGE DETERMINED?
The minimum wage is determined by the Minimum Wage Determination Committee, which consists of 15 people, including 5 representatives from workers, employers and the government, as required by law.
The committee meets on dates to be determined in December as part of its study of the new minimum wage.
The Committee is chaired by one of the members appointed by the Ministry, meets with the participation of at least 10 members and decides by majority. In case the number of votes is equal, it is considered that the party with the chairman has the majority.
