Google Pixel smartphone users installing the Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1 test have encountered a serious camera error. After updating to version CP11.251114.006, the autofocus of the main module and the ultra-wide angle started to shake. This was reported by GizmoChina.
According to users on Reddit and Google's issue tracker, when trying to focus, the camera lens begins to physically vibrate, causing the image to appear blurry. The problem appears when using the main or ultra-wide camera in 50-megapixel mode, while the standard 12-megapixel mode works fine.
Errors occur even in good lighting conditions and can be caused by autofocus and manual focus. According to users, the cause may be related to the processing of high-resolution images in the current beta version of the system.
Clearing the camera app's cache or reinstalling updates didn't help as the error seemed to be related to the system itself. Google has received many reports about this issue and will likely release a fix in a future update.
Currently, a temporary solution to this problem is to refuse to use high-resolution photography.
