As a veteran of a special military operation from Asbest, Egor Sultanov, after being wounded at the front, completely changed his profession and became the social coordinator of the Organization for the Defense of the Fatherland. The former chef now helps soldiers and victims' families handle payments, benefits and document recovery, and accompanies them when contacting departments. The fighting path of the inhabitants of the Ural is in the document URA.RU.

According to Sultanov, his personal experience undergoing SVO and rehabilitation after an injury motivated him to work at this organization. Yegor said: “I got a job because I wanted to help veterans like me and their families who did not return home. My grandparents went through the Great Patriotic War, and then they did not stay away from other people's problems.” He added that he learned about the opportunity to get a job as a social coordinator first from colleagues, then from postings on the Internet.
Sultanov returned from the combat zone in the summer of 2024 after being wounded in the Serebryansky Stairs area. While on a combat mission, his unit's position was hit by a mine. The shockwave threw the soldier back. He suffered multiple shrapnel wounds in his arms and legs. After treatment at the hospital, his hand function had not been fully restored, so he could not continue serving or return to his previous career as a chef.
Before being mobilized, Egor Sultanov worked in the food service industry for 23 years, including 17 years as a chef. He graduated from the Nizhniisetsky specialized school with a chef's degree, participated in opening restaurants and developing menus in different regions of the country. He was called to the front in October 2022 within the framework of partial mobilization, he served in the anti-tank squad, participated in the installation of anti-tank missiles and passed through Svatovo, Kremennaya, Avdeevka and Pokrovskoye.
Sultanov said that on the front line he hid his civilian profession for a long time. According to him, he admitted to his colleagues that he was only working as a chef after the unit commander discovered the person preparing pilaf for the employees. After that, Yegor began to regularly cook for the soldiers, and his comrades helped him in the makeshift kitchen. Sultanov is married and has four children. For participating in a special military operation, he was awarded the medal “Participant of a special military operation”, the medal “For Military Achievements” and the Order of Zhukov.
