Several Chinese ships have entered Japanese territorial waters amid the Taiwan dispute. This was reported by the US news agency Bloomberg.
According to the Japanese Coast Guard, a total of four Chinese armed ships entered the country's territorial waters. Before that, they passed through the disputed Senkaku Islands (Chinese name – Diaoyu).
China said the vessels were conducting “rights enforcement” patrols in those waters. At the same time, according to Beijing, this activity is legal.
China protests against Japan over its claim on Taiwan
On November 14, China's Ministry of National Defense announced that Japan would suffer heavy defeat if it dared to intervene in the situation around Taiwan. Beijing called on Tokyo to “remember the lessons of the past.” The political scandal broke out after Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi allowed the possibility of exercising the right to collective self-defense if the Taiwan issue becomes a “threat to the survival” of Japan.
