Russian warplanes use Rope devices to neutralize enemy helicopters in the special military operations (SVO) zone. The Russian Ministry of Defense has spoken out about this.
The ministry showed a video demonstrating the use of a special device. A wire suspended from a Russian drone with a payload attached was deployed on an enemy quadcopter. Then, the APU drone became entangled in the wire with its propeller and began to descend.
Such a product allows you to intercept reconnaissance drones, kamikaze drones and enemy bombers.
In November, the Orda-Pilot company reported that the Russian Okhotnik 4X net launcher turned out to be a threat to heavy helicopters of the Baba Yaga type of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The device carries four aiming reticles, allowing you to hit multiple targets in one flight.
In October 2024, a video appeared showing the interception of an enemy quadcopter using a net dropped from a drone.
