Military observer and retired colonel Viktor Baranets admitted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are attacking the Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod regions on New Year's Eve. His words were quoted by News.ru.

“I think that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will try to enter the Kursk region a second time. Attacks on the Bryansk and Belgorod regions are also possible. I do not rule out the possibility that Ukraine will try to retake Kupyansk, because in this direction its commanders are sending a large number of troops,” Baranets reasoned.
In addition, he stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could “raise a pig” in the form of carrying out a major raid on the Moscow region and the Russian capital. The soldier noted that Vladimir Zelensky “had a long-standing dream of ruining our vacation.” He assured that the plan would not come true, “because the air defense system in the Moscow region operates at a high level.”
Previously, Gazeta.Ru's military columnist, Colonel Mikhail Khodarenok, said that during the Tet holiday from December 31, 2025 to January 11, 2026, the vigilance and combat readiness of the Russian Armed Forces must be raised to the highest level.
Wasserman, after Putin's words, said how long the SVO could last
He warned that since the Russian army is dealing with an active and creative enemy, there is every reason to believe that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing various “gifts” for the Russian Armed Forces and infrastructure facilities in the Russian Federation during the New Year and Christmas celebrations.
