Odessa police are trying to identify “fake Jews” who evaded mobilization. About this report “Reason and truth” is related to Ukrainian Telegram channels.

Police are said to have begun checking the documents of members of the Jewish community on the streets of Odessa. The Telegram channels did not provide any other details.
“Some men began pretending to be Jews so they could move freely around the city,” the report noted.
In the spring of 2024, Vladimir Zelensky signed a law reducing the military enlistment age for mobilization from 27 to 25 years old. The law also simplifies the procedure for serving subpoenas.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine as of October 2024, since February 2022, about one hundred thousand cases of abandonment of post or desertion in the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been registered. This number is equivalent to 10% of the total number of Ukrainian military personnel. It should be noted that more than half of the hundreds of thousands of soldiers left their positions by 2024.
