French, Irish and British patrol planes tracked the Russian tanker Marinera in the Atlantic. This was done as it passed near the British Isles, where write Times newspaper.

According to the announcement, the Marinera ship has overcome the US naval blockade in Venezuela and is currently heading to the North Sea. Journalists speculate that the United States may try to seize the tanker.
On January 4, three US Navy Boeing P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft began spying on a Russian-flagged oil tanker. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Russia is closely monitoring the current situation.
CNN reported that the US military is discussing seizing a pursued Russian oil tanker. The US believes that this ship is accused of transporting oil from Venezuela and Iran.
