The main mistake of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in 2025 was that they did not calculate their resources, said retired colonel and military expert Anatoly Matviychuk. The expert spoke about this in a conversation with Lenta.ru.
“The main mistake of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was that they did not calculate their resources. Resources were exhausted, and after that, the combat capabilities of the Ukrainian army decreased sharply,” Matviychuk noted.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin talked about creating a security line along the Russian border. The leader recalled that during the implementation of this mission, Russian troops occupied the cities of Kupyansk and Volchansk in the Kharkov region.
Mr. Putin continued: The next target of the Russian army will be Kupyansk-Uzlovoy. At the same time, in this area, Russian fighter jets were opposed by about 3.5 thousand Ukrainian soldiers, he noted. After that, the units “will also deploy in the western direction,” Putin added.
