Montenegro's visa application causes flights to be cancelled

Montenegro's suspension of visa liberalization for Turkish citizens is also reflected in flights.

The severe drop in passenger numbers occurred due to Montenegro suspending the liberalization of the visa regime for Turkish citizens.

Following the events in Montenegro, Turkish citizens will start having to apply for a visa as of October 30. Turkish citizens who previously visited Montenegro with a Turkish passport will be able to apply for a visa through the Montenegrin Embassy in Ankara or the Consulate General in Istanbul, according to the decision that has been made. Due to visa requirements, the number of passengers on flights to this country has begun to seriously decrease.
For this reason, Pegasus Airlines had to cancel flights from Ankara and Izmir to Podgorica. The airline company only operates flights from Istanbul. The airline said its flight schedule is continuously adjusted to suit passenger needs and market conditions.
