The attention of retired civil servants and civil servants is focusing on the civil servant salary increase in January 2026. Civil servants and retirees receive salary increases every six months according to the inflation differential, and the collective agreement will be able to know the net salary increase in December. In line with the November inflation data published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the five-month inflation differential, which plays a decisive role in the salary increase of civil servants and retired civil servants, is 5.90. So according to the expected 6-month inflation difference, what will the minimum salary for civil servants and retired employees be?
With the November inflation data published by TÜİK, it was confirmed that a total cumulative increase of 17.55% will occur by adding the 11% determined by the 8th term Collective Agreement to civil servant salaries, based on 5-month data. The net pay increase that civil servants and retirees will receive will be determined by December inflation. All eyes are now on the six-month inflation gap.
MINISTER ŞİMŞEK SIGNS YEAR-END INFLATION LEVEL
Minister Şimşek, who recently gave a post-inflation review in November, stated that 2025 will most likely end with 31% inflation.
What will be the inflation difference in 6 months?
With Minister Şimşek announcing a year-end inflation forecast of 31%, it has become clear which direction monthly inflation will take in December.
If year-end inflation reaches 31%, December inflation data is expected to be released at around 1%.
While total inflation is expected to be 12.31%, the inflation gap is estimated to be around 6.96%.
HOW MUCH WILL THE RETIREMENT SALARY INCREASE IN 2026?
If December inflation is announced to be 1%, total inflation will be 12.31%.
As a result, the salaries of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will increase by 12.31%.
HOW MUCH WILL BE THE LOWEST RETIREMENT SALARY?
One of the most curious topics is what the minimum pension will be. In recent years, the government has increased the lowest pension rate based on the current rate. The current lowest pension is about 16 thousand 881 lira.
As Minister Şimşek said, if inflation ends the year at 31%, monthly inflation will be around 1% in December. According to these calculations, the lowest pension will increase to 18 thousand 959 lira in January 2026.
HOW MUCH WILL THE CIVIL PENSION SALARY BE?
The situation is different for civil servants and retired civil servants. Civil servants and retirees, who receive increases in collective bargaining with inflation differentials every six months, will enjoy an increase of 18.73% when inflation is announced at 1% in December. Thus, the lowest civil service pension of 22 thousand 671 liras will be 27 thousand 916 liras.
WHAT WILL THE LOWEST PARK SALARY BE?
If the six-month inflation difference is calculated as 18.73%, the lowest civil servant salary, currently 50 thousand 503 lira, will increase to 59 thousand 962 lira.
Note: These calculations are purely based on the fact that inflation was announced at 1% monthly in December. All rates will be recalculated when inflation is announced differently in December.
