In the capital, elevators will be replaced as required by regulations in the year of the end of their 25-year service life. This year they promised to replace a record number of elevators – more than 5.5 thousand units. For comparison: last year more than four thousand elevators were installed, and a year before that – only 2.5 thousand. I will tell you which and where elevators will replace outdated elevators.
According to the city services complex, the elevator renovation program was developed and approved in 2018. Unlike other regions, the capital does not extend the service life of elevators. As Deputy Mayor for Housing, Social Services and Improvement Pyotr Biryukov clarified, the majority will be replaced this year in the Southwestern District – 816. In second place is the Southern District, where 764 elevators can be replaced, and the Eastern District completes the top 3, where 672 elevators will be replaced. In other districts of the city, work will also be carried out but to a lesser extent.
As the press service of the Moscow Capital Repair Fund clarified to RG, special offset contracts were signed for the first time this year to implement the regional housing capital repair program in Russia. According to them, the Karacharovsky and Shcherbinsky elevator construction plants will deliver more than 43 thousand elevators by 2030. Regardless of the manufacturer, high-quality equipment will be installed. “Each “big elevator” will be beautiful, comfortable and high-tech, meeting safety standards for passengers,” Maxim Korobkov, head of the elevator department of the Moscow Capital Repair Fund, told RG. “The new elevator has increased the load capacity from 320 to 400, as well as from 500 to 630 kg. The door became wider – the opening increased from 650 to 700 cm. Across the width of the opening, a light curtain is installed that will prevent the door from closing if there is interference.” Maxim Korobkov noted that all new elevator cabs are resistant to abrasion and vandalism, and the landing doors are also fireproof. Metal-plastic and corrugated aluminum are used in finishing. The control panel is made of shiny stainless steel. All elevators are equipped with color screens, mirrors and handrails on one of the walls. Movement speed has also been increased – up to one meter per second. All equipment in the elevator changes along with the cabin: winch, variable frequency drive, etc. By the way, the Karacharovsky Elevator Plant recently launched a new conveyor line for the domestic production of gearless winches, so the difficult problem of lacking these parts is closed.
By the way, if several elevators at the entrance need to be replaced, they will be replaced one by one. If problems often arise with new elevators, you need to contact the management company or Rostechnadzor, which has been monitoring the state of the domestic elevator industry since 2023.
