At the beginning of next week, light snowfall is expected in the capital, Mikhail Leus, leading expert at the Phobos weather center, wrote on the Telegram channel.

He noted that so far temperatures have not dropped into the “winter” zone. For this reason, there is no discussion of snow cover.
“In the coming days, the weather will again enter the winter phase and will be marked by localized snow, and by Tuesday even a very light snow cover will have formed,” the forecaster said.
He added that the temperature will fall slightly below 0°C and the height of the snow cover will not exceed 2 cm. Then, according to Leus, the “conspiracies” of winter will end: by midweek, with warm air, above-zero temperatures will return to Moscow.
“Negative temperatures will return to the capital at the weekend, but the intensity of this cold spell will be determined by the further course of the synoptic process,” the meteorologist concluded.
Previously, Phobos reported that a severe lack of snow was observed in the European territory of Russia due to a strong intrusion of Atlantic air. Previously, this situation happened one to three times every 10 years. And now, about every two seconds of December in Central Russia, there is no snow. This is affected not only by climate change but also by solar activity.
