December 22, 2025
in Opinion

January in Moscow will be unusually warm – from +1.5 to +2.6 degrees. About this forecast reported Chief expert of the capital's weather office Tatyana Pozdnykova.

Forecasters note that December in Moscow will end with positive air temperatures and no rain. In January, abnormal temperatures will still exist, but the values calculated in different meteorological models “vary from +1 to +3 degrees”.

“All these models in Moscow predict a “warm” January 2026, with positive temperature anomalies between 1.5 degrees and 2.6 degrees; the models are unclear about precipitation, Pozdnykova said.

According to her, daylight time in Moscow will increase to 8 hours 35 minutes by the end of January.

Previously, the Phobos center warned of severe frost next week in Moscow.
