Cold weather is hitting Moscow. The leading expert of the Phobos Weather Center, Mikhail Leus, told Rossiyskaya Gazeta how much the temperature will drop and whether there will be real winter frosts.

On Saturday, December 6, the thermometer will remain at plus 2-4 degrees. Skies will be cloudy with a slight chance of rain. It will start to get colder the next day, Sunday. The temperature will drop to 0 degrees and some places in the capital will have snow. On Monday, Moscow and the region will be under the influence of tornadoes, precipitation will include snow and ice will form on the roads, Leus warned. Meteorologists acknowledge the temporary appearance of urban snow cover, but it will not last long.
By the middle of next week, Muscovites will experience another wave of warming. The thermometer will rise plus 1-3 degrees, and by the end of the week the temperature can reach +7 degrees. Snow cover will form in the capital area in just the third ten days of December.
