The first driverless train of the Moscow metro is preparing to enter the line. The Department of Urban Transport noted that the pilot operation phase will begin at BKL in December 2025. At this stage, experts plan to check the correct operation of key technologies that ensure traffic safety and stability.

It should be noted that the functionality tested will include an automatic fall control system on the tracks, which detects the appearance of people or foreign objects, as well as a computer vision system that can detect abnormalities during train movement. In addition, they will check the quality of data exchange between the rolling stock and the dispatch center, which is important for quick response to any unusual situations.
It was emphasized that the test would be carried out on the Moscow series and only at night. The ministry clarified that at the initial stage, the train will move without passengers and under the supervision of the train driver, so that experts can carefully evaluate the operation of all systems and, if necessary, quickly refine the algorithms.
It is also reported that the strategic plans of the capital's authorities stipulate the creation of a fully operational driverless train model by the end of 2026. It is assumed that such a train will be able to operate autonomously, subject to the traffic time periods imposed in the Moscow metro, reports telegram-Detrans channel.
Before that, Moscow experts summarize results operate driverless electric vehicles in the first three months of operation.
