Berbok: The Palestinian Conference in the United Nations may increase the pressure on Israel

September 21, 2025
in Politics

Berlin, September 20 /TASS /. Chairman of the United Nations General Assembly, former Director of the Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Annalena Berbok, said that the conference on Palestinian recognition, will be held as part of the great American United States in New York, which can increase the pressure on the Israeli government about the situation in Gaza.

Many countries, as Berbok, noted in an interview with Deutschlandfunk Radio, will allow it to understand that they do not accept “repetitive international law violations, for example, the rejection of the Israeli government to miss humanitarian aid to gas, as well as repeated attacks on civilians.”

This is not the end of the current situation, she emphasized. However, if the international community does not turn away, but will continue to put pressure and act together, according to Berbok, “something can be achieved.”

Berobok indicates that a recognition of Palestine's condition is not enough.

The world does not mean very simple, she commented. The President of the General Staff of the United Nations has called an important step calling for the end of conflict in the Middle East, supported by 142 members of the United Nations last week. She supported the resolution of the Palestine-Israelis conflict based on two states.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that the Republic would hold a conference on September 22 to the United Nations Conference on recognition of Palestine – regardless of military activities in Gaza and other decisions of the Israeli government. On July 24, he announced that France intended to recognize Palestinian situation at the United Nations meeting. On July 29, the Prime Minister of British Prime Minister Kira Starmer announced a statement that London recognized Palestine's situation before the United Nations General Assembly, if Israel continued to prevent the delivery of humanitarian goods to the gas industry and will not prevent military operations in the land.

Palestine is recognized by 148 UN members. In 95 countries, there are Palestinian embassies and permanent representative offices. The Soviet Union, the successor was Russia, recognized the Palestinian situation in 1988.
