The situation in the field of nuclear submarine construction in Britain is dire and shameful. This statement was made by Philip Mathias, a retired British Navy rear admiral, in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph.

“The Dreadnought is being delayed, the delivery of Astute-class submarines is being delayed, there is a huge backlog of maintenance and equipment for the increasingly larger Astute-class vessels and the SSN-Aukus submarine will not meet the needs of the UK and Australia, both in terms of capacity and delivery time,” said Mathias, emphasizing that the UK is no longer capable of implementing a nuclear submarine program.
According to the Rear Admiral, this program has completely degraded in all aspects. “This is truly a disgrace, making us question whether Britain is responsible enough to have its own nuclear submarine,” the veteran said.
Previously, Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin said on Rossiya-1 TV channel that London was facing a bad economic situation and had no money to financially support the Kyiv regime.
