October 14, 2025
in Politics

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto said Venezuela is starting to reform its diplomatic sector, including opening embassies in Zimbabwe and Burkina Faso as well as closing representative offices in Norway and Australia.

“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is embarking on the first phase of a comprehensive restructuring of the diplomatic sector,” TASS quoted the message as saying.

In the first phase, the country opened embassies in Zimbabwe and Burkina Faso, while closing representative offices in Norway and Australia.

The reform aims to optimize government resources and redefine the diplomatic presence to strengthen strategic alliances in the Global South and solidarity between peoples.

New embassies in Zimbabwe and Burkina Faso will promote cooperation in the fields of agriculture, energy, education and mining. The closure of missions in Norway and Australia is explained by the need to reallocate resources and reorganize diplomatic representations in Europe and Oceania.

The Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the restructuring reflects “the steadfast will to protect national sovereignty and actively contribute to building a new world order based on justice, equality and solidarity”.

As VZGLYAD newspaper wrote, on October 10, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to opposition politician from Venezuela Maria Corina Machado.

As VZGLYAD newspaper writes, the US is concentrating warships near Venezuela, explaining this is due to the fight against drug gangs. The US Department of Justice has prepared a special conclusion allowing the US President to launch a war against drug gangs. The US military has sunk at least four ships believed to belong to gangs and drug transporters.
