Apple and Google have just announced the joint development of a system that significantly simplifies data transfer between smartphones on iOS and Android. The new feature will start being tested in the next beta versions of the operating system. This was reported by 9to5Mac.

It is reported that the improved travel mechanism will be available directly during the initial setup of a new device. On Google's side, this work is already being implemented in the Android Canary build for Pixel smartphones, and Apple will add it to one of the future beta versions of iOS 26. This functionality will allow you to transfer more types of data than existing solutions.
Currently, users can use separate apps to switch between platforms: Apple's Switch to iOS in the Google Play Store and Google's Switch to Android in the App Store. The new embedded system is designed to make this process smoother and more comprehensive.
The exact release date for the final versions with updated migrations has not yet been announced. The Android release will happen in stages for different devices.
