Everyone's trace was found on Sulawes for more than one million years

The team of international scientists discovered stones with sharp edges on Sulawes Island, used in ancient times to produce guns. The era of antiques is up to 1.04 million years, which makes the parking of ancient immersion of the oldest people in the whole region. In the future, the authors will have to find the fossils of the gibbon and establish their evolution in isolation from the continents. The research was published in Nature magazine.

Everyone's trace was found on Sulawes for more than one million years

Wallsia is a series of islands between Asia and Australia, apart by deep strait. For a long time, it is believed that people have resolved them relatively recently, about 200-100 thousand years ago.

Now, a group of international scientists rejected this – in archaeological work, researchers have found seven stone artifacts in sandstone layers in southern Sulawesi, Indonesia. These are small lands – small pieces of rocks with sharp edges, which ancient people are cut from large pebbles to make tools. In the same place is the fossil of the pig, which residents of the island can hunt. With the help of dating sandstone and the rest of the animal nearby, scientists discovered that the era of artifacts was 1.04 million years. This makes the parking lot in Sulawes the longest immersion in the whole area.

Earlier in this area, scientists have recorded traces of ancient people: on the island of Flores, where the dwarf of Homo Floresiensis lived was 1.02 million guns and traces of lifetime apes about 700 thousand years ago on the Philippines Island. The researchers believe that the first colonialist of the area could be an Erectus Homo, or an empty person. He passed the sea fence and immersed himself, and then probably developed and experienced dwarfism, like many other species isolated on the islands.

However, Sulawesi is a large land, 12 times the Flores. If the gibbons live here in the isolation of a million years, they can change into very abnormal forms.

This discovery complement our understanding of the movement of those who extinguished through the Wallace line, the transition area, beyond the unique and often very evolutionary animals. -Thor of study from Griffith University, Australia.
