Robots learn to navigate more effectively, imitate human memory

October 1, 2025
in Tech

Scientists have developed Physics technology, allowing autonomous robots to operate more effectively, modeling the distribution process and forgetting information in human society. This development can significantly increase the productivity of mobile robots in the warehouse, at logistics centers and smart factories.

Robots learn to navigate more effectively, imitate human memory

Autonomous robot (AMR) has long been used to automate logistics and production, but in actual conditions, their motion often violates unexpected obstacles – the load set, elevators or goods are placed inaccurate. Previously, robots only react to the current situation, resulting in unnecessary loops and overall effectiveness.

The Group of Professor Kun-Ju Pak created a mathematical model to mimic social processes: events are spreading, and then gradually forgotten. The algorithm allows the robot to automatically forget unnecessary information and quickly exchange important data. This reduces the movement time and improves coordination in the general navigation process.

In the experiments in the simulation process to imitate the work of the warehouse, the use of new methods has increased the 18% bandwidth and a 30% average reduction compared to the ROS 2 traditional navigation. The technology only works with 2D cap and integrated as a plugin into the current ROS 2 systems, allowing you to quickly introduce it on existing equipment.

The special new system promises the coordination of robot groups in smart cities, traffic management, as well as for large -scale search and rescue activities and research.
