Telegram messenger now has an alternative to logging in via SMS. This was reported by Lenta.ru correspondent.
In the new versions of the app for iOS and Android, you can now sign in with an access key (Passkey). The corresponding setting can be enabled in the “Privacy” section.
To enable this feature, you need to create an access key and verify your identity with a fingerprint, password or Face ID. The key will be stored on the device and allows you to log in to your account without needing a password or SMS code.
Previously, Telegram began providing email rights to Russians. Previously, it was known that new users of the Telegram and WhatsApp messaging applications could stop receiving SMS and calls upon registration.
