The two new Aist-2T satellites are designed to take stereoscopic images of the Earth's surface. They will be able to create digital terrain models and monitor emergency situations such as fires, floods and volcanic eruptions. According to the press service, Roscosmos noted that, unlike the previous device of the Aist-2D series, the new satellites are equipped with a propulsion system for orbit correction, have an increased service life – 5 years instead of 3 years – and a higher speed of data transmission to Earth. “Aist-2D”, which entered orbit in 2016-2024, photographed an area of ​​more than 93 million square meters. km, exceeding 60% of the entire earth's area.

In addition to the two Stork-2Ts, the launch vehicle also launched 50 other spacecraft with various purposes into low Earth orbit for remote sensing of the Earth, electromagnetic radiation research, transportation monitoring, receiving Internet of Things signals and biological research.
