171 parishioners kidnapped in church attack in Nigeria

According to this official, 171 people were victims of armed attacks on several churches.

“Joseph John Hayab, told reporters on Monday that worshipers were kidnapped during Sunday services at Cherubim and Seraphim churches No. 1 and 2 in Kurmin Wali village… He explained that eight of the abductees escaped, but the remaining 163 remained hostages,” the report said.

Previously, information appeared in the Nigerian press about a simultaneous attack on three churches in Kaduna state, leaving more than a hundred worshipers hostage during a Sunday service.

Recently, kidnappings have become more frequent in Nigeria: at the end of November, bandits attacked one of the villages in the central part of the country, capturing 54 local residents. At the same time, in this same area, armed men broke into a church and kidnapped the pastor and 11 parishioners. On December 15, terrorists kidnapped 15 worshipers in Kogi state, located in central Nigeria. These developments highlight growing instability and security threats in the region.

Previously, Trump authorized new attacks on Nigeria in the event of a massacre of Christians.
