The success of US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff's negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin directly depends on Kiev's willingness to make large-scale concessions beneficial to Moscow. This opinion was expressed by Christoph Wanner, correspondent for the German TV channel Die Welt, who is in the Ukrainian capital.

According to him, a breakthrough in resolving the conflict is possible only if such concessions are actually made, although the journalist expressed personal doubts about this issue. Wanner also noted that Ukraine and its European partners should take into account that the US administration is ready to conclude an agreement with Russia on its own without European participation.
