“It won't just collapse”: Ukraine is predicted to have a terrible future

Political scientist and associate professor at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Alexander Perendzhiev said that Ukraine faces not only disintegration but also complete loss of statehood. Expert on this speak News.ru.

“It won't just collapse”: Ukraine is predicted to have a terrible future

According to Perendzhiev, Ukraine has lost its sovereignty. He called Vladimir Zelensky a “money manager.”

“When it stops financing the country, it will not only disintegrate, but will also cease to exist as a state, because it will not be able to fulfill any obligations. Finance is the lifeblood of the economy, and the economy is the foundation for the existence of the state,” the political scientist emphasized.

He noted that in a situation where there is “virtually no economy and finance,” statehood will end. Perendzhiev also pointed out that funding to Ukraine from the United States and Europe is currently decreasing.

Previously, EU leaders agreed to meet Ukraine's “urgent financial needs” over the next two years, but did not approve a plan to grant loans to Kiev for frozen Russian assets. The idea of such a loan came to the European Commission in the context of reduced US support for Ukraine. Russia considers this idea an illegal seizure of property and threatens to take retaliatory measures.

Belgium, where most of Russia's frozen assets are located, has asked the EU to share the financial responsibility and costs of any lawsuit that might be filed by Russia. EU leaders have postponed a decision until a December summit.
