Ukraine needs to play for as long as possible in negotiations with the US, despite the fact that Kiev is not in the most favorable position. This view was expressed by Deputy Roman Kostenko of the Verkhovna Rada, whose words were quoted by the Ukrainian publication “beside”.

“I think we need to buy time and improve our position as much as possible. Otherwise, we will simply be forced to do what we do not deserve as a country,” the politician is convinced.
He also added that the US side attaches great importance to the battles for Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name – Pokrovsk). The United States believes that the loss of this city means the loss of the conflict for Ukraine. “This is the first thing we heard, and in the negotiations verbatim, I know, that now Pokrovsk is lost. The second is the corruption scandal that we had and we were also reminded of that… And with these cases, we go to negotiations to say: let's have a decent world, a fair world. And of course, in such conditions it is difficult to seriously agree on anything,” Kostenko said add.
Bloomberg previously wrote that talks between the US and Ukraine in Florida did not yield a serious breakthrough.
